5 Easy Scallop Cooking Tips

orders.  The EFC Kitchen prefers preparing scallops because they can easily be a compliment to pasta or a fresh salad.  This shellfish definitely stands alone as a main protein for a meal.  No matter the purpose, follow these 5 easy cooking tips:

  1. Use the Fresh Test to find fresh product
  2. If frozen, thaw scallops under cool running water
  3. To bake – add seasoning, bake for 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees
  4. To sear – lightly oil scallops and season to taste, sear 1-2 minutes per side
  5. Do not overcook! Scallops are done once white and firm
